I have a built 454 (pushing 550 HP+) so I wanted to be sure I had plenty of cooling capacity. The two fan set ups maximized coverage of the radiator and also provided the greatest volume of air movement.
Originally I was going to have the fans run on a stepped arrangement (e.g. - Fan #1 on at 185, Fan #2 on at 200 deg) but I'm probably just going to wire them both to go on at the same temp. It's easier and less wiring.
