Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, I guess the good news is that they installed the windshield today. The bad news is that I really think it is going to leak. It does come wioth a lifetime leak warranty, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the first install. They did a great job fitting it up and applying the sealant betwee...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Things are all set for the windshield installer tomorrow. I started on the next phase, installing the fuel injection. First step was to replace the gas tank. This evening the old new tank came out. The stock tank has the filler neck on the top and the tank outlet and sender in the bottom. 65 fuel ta...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, for better or worse, the windshield frame is now painted and the windshield molding clips are installed. I did not use the screws that Chevrolet used, which were small #6 metal screws with a dab of rubber on the tip to seal the hole. Instead, I used small #6 stainless steel screws and sealed t...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I have been making progress, slow, but progress. I completed all of the fine tuning I needed to do to get the windshield molding to fit, and I am now comfprtable with it. Next I filled all the extra small screw holes in the windshield frame (holes made to install the clips that were not in the right...

Re: What to do first?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Real bummer about you other Vette! I have just one question, I cannot see any support in your photos for the nose of the car. If it doesn't have any, it needs some. I realize the #1(2) body mounts are at the firewall where you have support, but the nose weight is support...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

On another note, the windshield glass installer was here this morning and inspected the windshield frame. He gave it a big thumbs up, so as soon as they get the windshield in, they will be back to install it. Sure nice being retired and not having to worry about taking off work to be here for it!!

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Bob, I had a friend in HS the had a 70-1/2 Z28 with the LT 1 350, 370 HP. if I remember correctly it had a Holley 780 CFM with duel feed inlets. Factory? The car was stock when he got it. My engine is basically a modified 1970 350/370 LT1 that I installed back in 1971 when I blew my 327 at Charlott...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Finally I am happy with the windshield molding. The Windshield install company is sending their installer over tomorrow morning to inspect to see if they feel it is ready. I believe it is, but their word is what I am looking forward to. If it is ready, I will be making the appointment to install the...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, I have about finished the majority of my "Domestic Do List" after retiring, which the Corvette was just a small item on the list. Now that the list is mostly done, I've started working on the car again. For the past 2 weeks I have been working on the windshield molding. I have it about 95% fit...
